Think-PLC Named to the Triad Business Journal Fast 50 for the Second Year in a Row

Recognized as the fastest-growing automation company in the Triad, Think-PLC took its place alongside the region's top companies at the 2026 Fast 50 awards presented by UNC Greensboro.

For the second consecutive year, Think-PLC has been named to the Triad Business Journal Fast 50, the annual ranking of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the Piedmont Triad. President Logan Tedder accepted the award on stage on behalf of the whole Think-PLC team, and a group from the office and the shop was in the audience to celebrate with him.

What the Fast 50 recognizes

The Fast 50 is the Triad Business Journal's annual look at the companies driving growth across Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point and the surrounding counties. Companies are ranked on sustained revenue growth over a multi-year period, so making the list once is an accomplishment and making it two years running says something about the business behind the numbers. Think-PLC first appeared on the list in 2025 at No. 24, and this year's honor confirms that the growth has continued.

This year Think-PLC was the fastest-growing automation and controls company recognized on the list, sharing the stage with manufacturers, builders, healthcare groups and technology firms that make up the top companies in the Piedmont Triad. For an industrial automation shop headquartered on Cole Road in Winston-Salem, that is a proud place to stand.

What is behind the growth

Think-PLC designs, builds, installs and services industrial automation for manufacturers across the Southeast: control panels and electrical design, PLC and HMI programming, robotics integration, SINUMERIK machine tool controls, and the field service that keeps all of it running. Over the last few years the company has added a full mechanical shop with laser cutting and CNC machining, launched a set of online design and quoting tools, and built multiple manufacturer partnerships that let it bring the right platform to each job. Every one of those steps was driven by customers asking for more from one team rather than three.

"This award belongs to the people in the audience and the people who could not leave the shop floor that afternoon," said Bobby Cole. "Growth like this only happens when a team delivers for customers day after day. Two years in a row on the Fast 50 is a credit to them, and to the customers who keep trusting us with their plants and their machines."

"Standing on that stage for a second year is a great feeling, but the real work happens back on Cole Road," said Logan Tedder, President of Think-PLC. "Our team designs it, builds it, installs it and stands behind it after the truck leaves. That is what our customers are buying, and it is why we keep growing. I was proud to accept this one for every one of them."

The Fast 50 recognition comes in the same year Think-PLC was named a finalist for the Triad Business Journal's Best Places to Work, an honor scored from employee surveys. Growing fast and being a good place to work at the same time is the balance the company is most proud of.
