Bobby Cole and Dan Cavanaugh from Think-PLC recently embarked on a pivotal business development trip to Ireland, highlighting Think-PLC’s dedication to supporting Siemens and Allen Bradley (Rockwell) projects and its readiness to assist European companies eyeing expansion into the U.S. market. This trip was not just about exploring new territories; it was about laying the groundwork for enduring partnerships that bridge the gap between European innovation and American industrial opportunities. Additionally, the trip underscored Think-PLC’s commitment to advancing robotic integration projects, further enhancing their capability to support complex controls and automation solutions in diverse industrial sectors.

Cementing New Relationships

The primary objective of the visit was to establish and deepen relationships with two key companies: ProSys and Robotics and Drives. ProSys, a company gearing up to penetrate the U.S. market, recognized the need for a robust partner to streamline their operations stateside. They found this in Think-PLC, who they trust to deliver exceptional panel building, installation services, system commissioning, and continued support after equipment handoff. RDS, already a client, had given Think-PLC an order for a project with the world’s leading online retailer and cloud computing provider, demonstrating the tangible trust and ongoing partnership between the two entities.

A Warm Welcome and Promising Discussions

The warmth of the Irish welcome was only matched by the substantive discussions that took place. ProSys opened their doors to their facilities in Cork, showcasing their advanced manufacturing processes and discussing future plans, which include setting up a brick-and-mortar manufacturing facility near Raleigh. This strategic move is aimed at building a strong operational base to better serve and expand their customer base in the U.S. market. Their thoughtful approach to expansion, which involves testing operational scalability in Ireland before taking on the U.S. market, reflects a strategic foresight that Think-PLC deeply appreciates.

We also toured the RDS facility in Mullingar and were impressed by the state-of-the-art robotic and process systems they were building on the floor. The facility also houses a state-of-the-art training classroom where they train their interns, employees, customers’ staff, and local community college students.

Showcasing Think-PLC’s Capabilities

Beyond relationship-building, the trip served as a platform for Think-PLC to demonstrate their extensive capabilities in supporting complex Siemens projects. By showcasing their expertise in seamlessly integrating Siemens technology into diverse manufacturing settings, Think-PLC not only reinforced their role as a pivotal player in the U.S. market but also as a bridge for European companies aiming to expand across the Atlantic. Additionally, Think-PLC is equipped to support robot installations and service work, further demonstrating their capability in integrating and servicing top-tier robotic systems alongside their Siemens expertise.

Looking Ahead

The successful trip to Ireland marks just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting chapter for Think-PLC. With solid plans for future collaboration and a clear strategy to support not just ProSys and RDS but other European entities looking to navigate the U.S. market, Think-PLC is setting the stage for a new era of growth and innovation.

Through strategic foresight, committed partnerships, and a deep understanding of Siemens technology, Allen Bradley technology, and robotic technology, Think-PLC is ideally positioned to facilitate and foster the growth of European companies in the U.S. market. As they continue to expand their reach and capabilities, the future looks bright for Think-PLC and its growing network of global partners.
